HobbyCat terms

Shopping on the internet should be a safe – and above all, fun – activity. Here at Hobbycat we aim to make it both. We really want our customers to enjoy shopping with us, and will always deal in good faith. We do have a small number of "terms and conditions" listed below, and these are mainly for your protection in the rare event that anything goes wrong. Please do have a browse through them.
Email
We strongly recommend that you provide us with an email address for us to contact you on. This helps us to alert you to the dispatch of your goods, and to resolve any problems rapidly. Hobbycat will NOT pass on your email address to any third party, or use it to send you unsolicited ‘junk’ mail.
Delivery
There is a charge of £3.00 to cover handling and packaging for each order up to £35 in value. This charge is waived for orders of £35 or above.
We aim to dispatch your goods by 2nd class post within 2 days of you placing your order. If you have given us an email address, then we will email you to let you know that your order is on its way. You should allow 3-5 days for postal delivery from that point. If for any reason there is a delay (very rare), we will contact you immediately.
Large orders may require a courier, in which case we may need to contact you to confirm that you will be available to receive the goods.
As noted on the website, Hobbycat can only deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom. If you place an order for delivery outside this area, then we reserve the right to cancel the order, and refund your payment minus a £1.50 administration fee to cover the electronic transaction costs.

Your Order.
We hope you will be delighted with our crafting products, and get great pleasure from using them. However, if you are NOT satisfied, then please contact us and – in most cases – we will arrange for a replacement or a refund, at your discretion.
Specifically:
“..it’s arrived all broken….”
Please contact us immediately – we will issue you with a Returns Authorisation Number. Once you have received this, return the item to us as described below, and we will replace the item, or refund your purchase, at your discretion.
“I’ve changed my mind… I don’t like it….it doesn’t look like the photograph..”
No problem. Just contact us and we will guide you through the process of returning the item(s) to us, and will arrange for either a refund, or a credit-note/replacement, whichever you prefer. The only expense to yourself is the postage costs for returning the item(s). (see ‘returning goods’ below’).
“.. it never arrived ..”
If your order has not arrived after 14 days, contact us ! We will normally ask you to check with your local post-office first: sometimes parcels can be held there if the Postman was unable to deliver them. (they are supposed to put a note through your letterbox advising you of this, but we have become aware of an increasing number of cases where this has not happened…..)
If the Post Office is unable to help, then alert us of this, and we will immediately arrange either a replacement or a refund, whichever you prefer.
Returning goods:
We cannot accept returned goods without a Returns Authorisation Number. To get an RAN, simply contact us. We will issue you with a RAN, and then you just need to package up the goods, write the RAN clearly on the package/envelope, and post them to…

Please ensure that you get ‘proof of postage’ from the Post Office… this is free, but without it we may not be able to issue refunds etc in the event that we do not receive the returned goods. (e.g. ‘lost in the post’).
General Legal stuff…

  1. By using this website, you agree to be bound these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to be bound by our terms, you must not use this website for any purpose
  2. Your statutory rights are not affected by these terms and conditions, but we reserve the right to refuse to supply goods or services at our discretion and without further explanation.
  3. The price you pay for is displayed clearly on the website and includes Value Added Tax for UK residents.
  4. Hobbycat can only deliver to customers based in the UK. If you place an order for delivery outside this range, then we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund your payment, less a £1.50 administration fee.
  5. Should our prices be displayed incorrectly, we will notify you of the error prior to dispatch of the goods and give you the opportunity to cancel your order should you so prefer.
Safety
Some of our products include small items (such as beads) and could present a choking hazard to small children or pets. . It is your responsibility as an adult to keep such items away from very young people, cats, dogs and other household pets.
Security and Data Protection.
All credit/debit card transactions are processed by ProtX, one of the most sophisticated and secure e-commerce payment providers in the industry. Hobbycat (and our website) never see – let alone store – your credit card details. Your name/address details are briefly stored on our Website in order for your order to be processed. Thereafter, they are ‘archived’ and removed from the internet. We retain these details in order to respond to future enquiries from yourself, but they are NOT passed on to ANY third party, or used for any purposes other than record keeping.
